Most of these lies seem harmless, but they can hurt a child if he is not mature enough to understand that a monster is not true or that "El Coco" does not exist. How do parents influence children’s beliefs? Parents can influence children in many ways throughout their lives.  One influence my parents had on me was to value education.  They taught me how to work for what i want and to never let anyone or anything stand in my way.  That taught me to look past fear and to explore new areas in life.
